Josephine Guida was born in 1963 in Adelaide, South Australia.
An arts graduate, she studied Bachelor of Arts, Fine Art at the South Australian College of Advanced Education from 1980 - 1986, then traveled to Europe in 1987 to further her knowledge and experience in the field of Fine Arts.
She began to paint abstract like works at a very early age, with no pretensions about what art means, specifically not given to metaphysical explorations of her work or to affix a single meaning to it.
"Art, for me, is more a sensual experience than a intellectual one. Art making itself, is not a pre-articulated reasoned practice, yet the process of art making continues to intrigue me".
"I am endlessly experimenting with a wide variety of mediums and techniques".

· 1990 - 1992 - Worked in the arts in Italy.
· 1993 - Exhibited at Take 5 in Italy.
· 1993 - Exhibited at Artemis in Adelaide South Australia.
· 1994 - 1996 Secondary school teacher. Adelaide South Australia.
· 2004 - Became a member of First Street Artist Studio.
· 2004 - 2005 - 10 week Art Tour of Italy.
· 2004 - 2007 Exhibited at SALA.
